About the Foundation

Purpose

The purposes of the Foundation have been conceived broadly to address a wide variety of needs, ranging from providing financial assistance to ministers and others engaged in research and writing to funding symposia, scholarly discussions, and other activities that may enrich the life and thought of the church. Although it may eventually fund several programs, the Foundation currently assists those who are enrolled in doctoral programs in religion and related fields.

Graduate Fellowships

In accordance with the purpose of the Foundation, a program of Graduate Fellowships has been established for members of the churches of Christ enrolled in advanced graduate programs. Since 1982 the Foundation has granted over 55 fellowships to awardees enrolled in graduate programs throughout the United States and abroad, including Brown, Boston University, Emory, Harvard, Notre Dame, Oxford University, Princeton Theological Seminary, Southern Methodist University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Yale, and others.
