About the Foundation
Purpose
The purposes of the Foundation have been conceived broadly to address a
wide variety of needs, ranging from providing financial assistance to
ministers and others engaged in research and writing to funding
symposia,
scholarly discussions, and other activities that may enrich the life
and
thought of the church. Although it may eventually fund several
programs,
the Foundation currently assists those who are enrolled in doctoral
programs in religion and related fields.
Graduate Fellowships
In accordance with the purpose of the Foundation, a program of Graduate
Fellowships has been established for members of the churches of Christ
enrolled in advanced graduate programs. Since 1982 the Foundation has
granted over 55 fellowships to awardees enrolled in graduate programs
throughout the United States and abroad, including Brown, Boston
University, Emory, Harvard, Notre Dame, Oxford University, Princeton
Theological Seminary, Southern Methodist University, University of
California at Berkeley, University of Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Yale, and
others.
